Spark plazma sintering (SPS) was used to produce sintered carbide compact. The advantage of SPS is that cemented composites can reduce the sintering time and suppress the grain growth of the final product. Therefore, this sintered carbide is used widely in various fields as it has advantageous in mechanical properties. Nevertheless, when this sintered carbide is used as the cutting tool, data regarding the tool performance is lacking. Then cBN-30vol% sintered carbide matrix composite was developed, and an evaluation of the tool's performance against the metal moulds was carried out. As a result of this experiment, it was found to be effective when applied to difficult-to-cut materials.
