No.2(1999)2.Influence of harmonic current to electric characteristic of a small transformer

There is an inverter and switching power supply in equipment which use power electronics. This kind of equipment is widely used from household electric appliances to equipment for industry. However, harmonic current which occurs from this kind of equipment makes voltage distortion large in electric power systems. Therefore,to which degree harmonic current must be generated must be known so as not to worsen the power supply environment by harmonic current. In this study, harmonic current was applied to a small transformer. Then, it the electric characteristics and magnetic characteristics were investigated and examinaed. As a result, efficiency and voltage regulation became bad when harmonic current increased. However,no large change was admitted. Also, there was no large change for the magnetic characteristics, either.
