Tokyo Metropolitan Government established Tokyo Metropolitan Industrial Technology Research Institute (TIRI) as a public testing and research facility that strives to promote small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Tokyo metropolitan area through the support of technology with the aim to better the lives of Metropolitan area residence.

We have been doing everything within our power to both support technology and carry out research and development according to our fourth medium-term management plan launched in fiscal 2021 to become a technical research institute that everyone can rely on.

Our use of online systems and the support of made-to-order technologies enhance the quality of customer services. Our research and development efforts provide a clear direction for Tokyo industry to lead, create, and support one another to help steadily commercialize research success and create new businesses.

Our project ventures (strategic assistance) specialize in support in not only creating new industries but also addressing social issues so that businesses can rapidly and flexibly adapt to the changing times.

We emphasize open innovation to broaden business opportunities for SMEs while providing the support necessary for startups to give shape to their vision. Furthermore, TIRI has driven forward its own digital transformation in order to leverage the experience and successes gained through those efforts in supporting SMEs to realize their own digital transformations.
