In recent years, when developing clothing products, it has become necessary to differentiate widely in the type of material used as well as the design. Therefore, in the designing of textile prints, we came up with a new process that differed from the traditional approach where a designer created designs using a design source. With this process, we optically captured the patterns created by a kaleidoscope, then processed the image data using a computer, using this data as the basis for the design.

We then created textile designs based on this data, and printed the designs onto textiles using an ink-jet printer. Furthermore using this material, we then went on to process trial pieces of cloth products such as ties, blouses and so forth and studied the possibility of producing them on commercial basis.

As a result, with our new process, we found that we could create novel designs easily, develop the design and products swiftly, respond quickly to increasing demand.
